Toronto’s DD/MM/YYYY might have turned some people off with their rambling sophomore disc Are They Masks?, but hopefully those disillusioned fans will give these guys another chance. Their latest is nearly as wacky and experimental as previous efforts, but it’s more grounded in actual songwriting. That’s not to say there are standard choruses and verses, but each song does have an accessible theme that anyone can follow. Fortunately, the group continues to blast as much noise as possible, with fast fingered riffs and blazing synths leading the way. Easily one of the best experimental noise records this year.
